How to mix adhesive when using splicing adhesive?
Many furniture factories use solid wood panels for cutting and assemble them into finished products, and the panels are assembled from individual wooden boards. In this process, plywood is used for panel splicing. Of course, the final splicing effect depends not only on the worker's gluing process, splicing quality, gluing environment, panel materials, etc., but also on the glue mixing before use, which is a critical step. If the glue mixing is not done properly, it will not only affect the worker's gluing but also the final finished product effect. Next, we will share some precautions for applying splicing adhesive to plywood, hoping to be helpful to everyone.
1. Before mixing the glue, first know the size of the mixing container. Because the adhesive is mainly prepared with glue and curing agent, bubbles will appear after the glue and curing agent react. If the amount of mixed glue is too large, bubbles may overflow. Therefore, we recommend that when mixing glue, the amount of mixed glue should be within half the container.
2. To ensure that the adhesive and curing agent are fully and evenly stirred and react completely, we recommend that manufacturers use a flat-bottomed round plastic bucket or mixing cup as the mixing container.
3. The ratio of the mixed glue to the curing agent is 100:10-15 (depending on the season and process requirements). When mixing glue, workers must not add other substances without authorization.
4. Before use, manufacturers should know the amount of adhesive that can be used each time. Do not mix too much glue, because after the splicing adhesive is mixed, it needs to be used within 12 hours, otherwise the strength of the adhesive will be insufficient. Unused adhesive and curing agent need to be stored in sealed containers, as they will deteriorate when exposed to air.
