How to distinguish the quality of water-based adhesive?
Release Date:2026-05-05 Views:0

Several simple methods to identify the quality of water-based adhesive:

(1) Pour the adhesive onto a flat glass plate, observe its rheological properties, and swing it left and right to observe its rheological properties.
Conclusion: If the adhesive flows too fast, it indicates the adhesive is too thin. Poor fluidity and excessive thickness are not conducive to bonding.

(2) Touch it with your hand to observe its viscosity.
Conclusion: It is recommended to pull a slow string, with the hand slightly sticking.

(3) Pour it onto a small piece of glass to observe its film formation time.
Conclusion: Within about 1 to 2 minutes, the adhesive can form a film on its surface.

(4) After the adhesive has basically cured into a film, dip your finger into water and observe its cohesion.
Conclusion: If the adhesive melts quickly, cohesion is poor. If the adhesive becomes turbid after, too much filler has been added.

(5) Stagger two wooden boards and glue them together. Measure the tension after 24 hours. Soak in water for one day, then dry and observe the color change.
Conclusion: If the tension of the adhesive does not change much, it indicates the adhesive has good water resistance. On the contrary, it is very poor.
