Therefore, its chemical name is polyvinyl acetate adhesive, commonly known in daily life as white latex adhesive or PVAC emulsion.

White latex adhesive usually needs to be mixed with clean water as a dispersant during use, so it is also one of the water-soluble adhesives. It can cure and form at room temperature. After curing, it is generally colorless and transparent, and will not contaminate or damage the surface of the bonded object. During use, standard-compliant white latex adhesive does not produce harmful substances, has certain flame retardancy, and a relatively high safety factor, especially for wood and fabric.

In addition, white latex adhesive itself has good stability and can generally be stored for more than half a year. Because it is a single-component liquid, it is also relatively convenient to use. There are many types of white latex adhesive on the market, so you need to pay special attention when purchasing. High-quality white latex adhesive is generally colorless and odorless, contains no formaldehyde or other harmful substances, and is a green and environmentally friendly product. If you find that the purchased white latex adhesive has a pungent odor, you need to be careful. Also, as a home decoration auxiliary material, white latex adhesive requires attention to its solid content, which is generally around 35%.

2. Uses of white latex adhesive.
First, furniture assembly. For ordinary home decoration custom furniture assembly or various wood, panel veneering, etc., white latex adhesive can be used directly for bonding. Because the cured adhesive layer is colorless and transparent, it does not produce any pollutants for furniture or wall decorations with aesthetic requirements, effectively ensuring indoor cleanliness and tidiness.

Second, decoration repair. If the surface of wooden furniture is found to be damaged, or a building wall is damaged, white latex adhesive can be used for repair. For repairing furniture or wooden ornaments, white latex adhesive with a solid content of about 30% can generally be used as an adhesive, applied to the surface of the ornament to be repaired, and then assembled and bonded. For building walls, especially the repair of exterior walls, cement mortar needs to be mixed in proportion for repair to ensure aesthetics.

Third, bonding of other items such as leather and ceramics. Besides being an auxiliary material for home decoration, white latex adhesive can also be widely used in other industries, such as the production and manufacturing of leather goods, bonding of ceramic ware, splicing and bonding of fabric decorative items, etc.

Generally, the vinyl acetate latex paint used for indoor building materials is made using white latex adhesive as a modifier. Precautions in the use of white latex adhesive.
1. Pay attention to temperature. When using white latex adhesive, there are certain temperature requirements. If the temperature is too high or too low, it is not suitable for bonding. The general minimum temperature should not be lower than 7 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature should not be higher than 95 degrees Celsius, otherwise the bonding strength of the adhesive layer will decrease, or bonding may not be completed at all. Also, if diluting white latex adhesive with clean water, pay attention to the surface temperature. Before dilution, ensure the surface temperature of the white latex adhesive exceeds 30 degrees Celsius, and the temperature of the clean water added should also be above 30 degrees Celsius. Never dilute with clean water below 10 degrees Celsius.
2. Pay attention to safe use. Although high-quality white latex adhesive does not produce harmful substances during use and is an environmentally friendly product, it is after all a chemical material. During use, avoid splashing into eyes or accidental ingestion, otherwise it may cause great harm to health. If a small amount of white latex adhesive is accidentally ingested or gets into eyes, it needs to be immediately rinsed with plenty of clean water to minimize injury.
3. Pay attention to storage methods. White latex adhesive needs to be stored in a dry, cool environment, generally with a temperature not lower than 5 degrees Celsius. Additionally, for white latex adhesive that has been opened and unsealed, if it cannot be used all at once, a layer of clean water needs to be sprinkled on its surface to avoid skin formation, and then stored strictly. Before using again, a small amount of hydrochloric acid can be added appropriately, and then stirred thoroughly and evenly.

However, some precautions still need to be taken during use to avoid affecting the bonding effect.
