Manual veneer adhesive application refers to the method of manually applying adhesive to cover and bond thin wood veneer onto substrates such as particleboard, fiberboard, plywood, or three-dimensional contours for decorative and sealing purposes. Below is a detailed explanation of the details to pay attention to when manually applying veneer adhesive. By wood source, veneer can be divided into natural veneer, artificial veneer, and spliced veneer. The common veneers used by furniture and wooden door factories are oak, willow, black walnut, etc., with a thickness between 0.1-0.5mm, made by planing wood.

Preliminary preparation work:
1. The moisture content of the panel should be controlled at 6-10%
2. The panel surface should be clean, smooth, not warped, and the cut surface should be well sanded; the wood pieces should be well joined without overlap.

Next, before applying the veneer adhesive:
1. When first opening the bucket, stir the surface of the wood adhesive to make it uniform, to prevent moisture from affecting it.
2. Before and after using the veneer adhesive, seal the extracted veneer adhesive to prevent water skin formation and the appearance of particles after drying.

Next, the precautions to pay attention to during the gluing process:
1. Adhesive application amount: 100-150g/m², as long as there is not excessive adhesive bleed-through. The application must be uniform and not foamy.
2. After applying the adhesive, cover the veneer within a reasonable open time, gently pressing to remove air bubbles and prevent film formation on the adhesive surface.
3. After bonding, when the surface moisture has evaporated and formed a film (it feels sticky when pressed by hand but no adhesive comes off), hot pressing and pre-pressing can be carried out. At 25-35°C, the open time should not exceed 8-12 minutes; at 10-25°C, not exceed 10-20 minutes. Under high air humidity conditions, extend the open time.
4. If bubbles appear after bonding, wipe with a damp cloth to allow the veneer and primer adhesive to absorb moisture, then hot press and repair.
5. Maintain the moisture and elasticity of the veneer surface,适当 moistening the veneer to make it easy to apply.
6. Ensure balanced pressure during hot pressing, meaning that all parts of the panel receive even pressure, without uneven pressure or areas without pressure.

Precautions for adhesive pressure release and conditioning:
1. After bonding, stack the panels flat and apply pressure to condition for a period of time (more than 24 hours in winter, more than 18 hours in summer). After the panels have cooled and the moisture has balanced, then proceed to the next processing step to prevent panel deformation.
2. When testing is required, the test should be conducted within 3 days to ensure accuracy. Strict testing should be conducted within 5 days.
