The humid weather of the southern "returning south" season is approaching, and the humidity in the air will increase. What is the impact of high humidity in humid weather on splicing adhesive? I believe some furniture factories have this question when using splicing adhesive. Now let us introduce the impact of high humidity in humid weather on splicing adhesive.
First, splicing adhesive is a water-based adhesive. The bonding principle of water-based adhesive is that the adhesive penetrates into the substrate being bonded, and after the water in the adhesive evaporates, it forms bonding "nails," thus creating bonding strength. During the returning south season, the humidity in the air is very high, reaching 80% or even over 90%. This will cause the moisture content of the panels to become higher during the process. The moisture content of the panels themselves, combined with the slower evaporation rate of the adhesive, can easily lead to the adhesive film sinking, turning white, or even the panels cracking after bonding.
Therefore, regarding the situation of high humidity in humid weather, the following points should be noted when using splicing adhesive:
1. Before bonding, first ensure that the moisture content of the panels is between 8% and 12%. If the moisture content of the panels is too high, the adhesive cannot properly penetrate into the panels and dry.
2. Compared with the previous ratio, the proportion of curing agent before bonding should be increased to 12-15%.
3. If the humidity in the air is relatively high, and conditions permit, air conditioning dehumidification can be used to reduce humidity when the environmental humidity exceeds 90%.
4. Before proceeding to the next process, the pressing time of the product on the splicing panel should be extended by 1.5 to 2 times longer than usual.
