What to do about glue bleed-through when using Anhui veneer adhesive?
Release Date:2026-04-19 Views:0

Recently, a small number of manufacturers asked us this question when looking for new veneer adhesive suppliers. We often encounter this problem. We have summarized the following causes and their solutions, hoping to be helpful to customers' production.

1. Using white latex adhesive produced by non-reputable manufacturers
Because of non-reputable white latex adhesive, the solid content of the adhesive is relatively low, resulting in a relatively high water content in the adhesive. This causes the adhesive to be prone to bleed-through when applied to the panel and the veneer. Therefore, we can choose our veneer adhesive or other adhesives with relatively higher solid content.

2. The worker applies too much veneer adhesive
This situation is also relatively common. New operators, worried that the amount of adhesive is insufficient and the bond will fail, apply a thick layer of adhesive (about 80-200g/m²) during production. This can also cause bleed-through through the veneer. This situation is also relatively easy to handle, as long as there is a symmetrical layer of adhesive on both the panel and the veneer surface.

3. The factory uses relatively thin veneer
A small number of factories, in order to reduce costs, easily use thinner veneer when purchasing veneer. Because the thin veneer is not thick enough, it can also easily cause glue bleed-through. Just switch to slightly thicker veneer.

4. Bonding immediately after applying the veneer adhesive
This situation is also very common. In order to improve efficiency, workers blindly apply adhesive and bond immediately. In this case, it is easy for the adhesive to fail to penetrate into the panel, thus making bleed-through easy to occur. The solution is to apply the adhesive, then let it sit for 3-5 minutes before covering with the veneer. After covering with the veneer, wait 1-2 minutes before heating, to avoid glue bleed-through through the veneer.
