How to use veneer adhesive and precautions to take. Currently, many furniture pieces on the market have a layer of veneer applied to the wood surface to achieve the effect of "solid wood furniture." This type of furniture not only looks grand but is also cheaper than pure solid wood furniture, making it popular among consumers. The veneer and the panel are bonded together using a special veneer adhesive. Below, we will explain the usage method and precautions of veneer adhesive to these furniture manufacturers.
First, let's talk about how to use the adhesive.
1、When the glue applicator puts the adhesive into a roller or manual gluing machine, they can start applying the adhesive. Manual gluing is generally quite convenient; you only need to evenly spread the veneer adhesive onto the panel. The application amount is 120~150g/m².
2、Use your hands to cover the wet veneer onto the glued substrate. After covering, gently press the veneer with your hand and lightly iron it with an iron.
3、After the veneer is ironed, there will be a "sweating" effect. Once this is completed, a second ironing can be done. The recommended temperature is 120°C. The next step can be carried out in a well-ventilated, dry place.
The above are the basic operating methods for veneer adhesive. The following are the precautions:
1、If conditions permit, it is recommended to apply the adhesive twice.
2、Before applying the adhesive, the surface of the substrate must be treated, such as sanding, dust removal, etc.
3、The substrate should be bonded as soon as possible after the veneer adhesive is applied, to prevent it from being bonded again after being left for too long.
