With the arrival of winter, temperatures are continuously dropping (in severe cases, below 0°C), so using splicing adhesive requires much more care than in summer. Especially in cold northern regions, the air humidity in production workshops is getting lower and lower. After products are spliced with splicing adhesive, it can easily cause rapid dehydration, which is not conducive to the bonding of substrates. Next, Anhui Lichao Building Materials introduces precautions for using splicing adhesive in winter.
1. The working temperature in the splicing adhesive workshop
The indoor working temperature for splicing is 10°C-15°C, and the environmental temperature for curing is 10°C-15°C.
2. The environmental humidity of the production workshop
Because the moisture content of the substrate must be controlled between 8-12%, the environmental humidity of the operating workshop must be controlled between 40-60%. When the environmental humidity falls below 40%, humidification equipment should be installed to humidify the workshop.
3. The glue application amount, open time, and assembly time for splicing
Application amount: 200-300g/m² (the actual application amount for specific panel adhesives depends on the actual situation)
Open time: less than 2 minutes
Assembly time: less than 8 minutes
4. Pressing time
Due to the lower temperatures in winter, the pressing time is longer than in summer. The required pressing time is 60-120 minutes (specific time depends on the actual situation).
5. Conditioning time
When conditions permit, products should be stored in a dedicated conditioning room. The conditioning time should be no less than 24 hours (depending on actual conditions: the lower the ambient temperature and the larger the product workpiece, the correspondingly longer the conditioning time).
