Veneer adhesive is generally used for manual veneer application, manual application of engineered wood veneer, irregular surface laminating, and veneer repair. Veneers adhered with veneer adhesive are generally called thick veneers when the thickness is greater than 0.5mm, and thin veneers when it is less than 0.5mm. Below, Anhui Lichao New Material Company gives a brief explanation of how to apply veneer adhesive using single-sided gluing:

1.the company generally recommends using a short-nap roller for single-sided application of veneer adhesive. Before applying veneer adhesive, the panel needs to be leveled and cleaned of dust, etc. When applying the adhesive, ensure that the panel is evenly coated. The general application amount is 120-150g/m². The panel should be covered with the veneer within 40-60 seconds (general temperature is 25°C, specific time depends on actual conditions such as working temperature, wood substrate, air humidity, etc.), provided that the adhesive can be transferred to the other substrate that does not have adhesive applied.

2. after the veneer adhesive is applied and bonded, it needs to be left to dry for 5-10 minutes (specific time depends on actual conditions such as working temperature, wood substrate, air humidity, etc.). The main purpose is to ensure that the veneer adhesive can properly penetrate until the adhesive on the surface layer is not tacky. You can gently brush it with your hand, so that the veneer can be applied to the panel.

3.if conditions permit, use an electric iron (150-170°C, specific temperature depends on actual conditions such as working temperature, wood substrate, air humidity, etc.) to gently heat the panel, giving the panel surface a certain temperature.

4.after applying the veneer, observe for the presence of bubbles or areas of non-adhesion. If the above situations occur, you can gently scrape the area with a tool, iron it again with the electric iron, and leave it to rest for a period of time before proceeding to the next process.
