In low-temperature, high-humidity environments, many furniture manufacturers encounter issues such as false adhesion or glue line opening when using hot melt adhesive edge banding machines, which greatly confuses them. Now, Anhui Lichao New Material Company introduces precautions for hot melt adhesive in low-temperature, high-humidity environments, hoping to be helpful to everyone.

First, based on our past experience as a hot melt adhesive manufacturer, when used in low-temperature, high-humidity environments, the operating temperature of the hot melt adhesive edge banding machine should be increased by 10°C–20°C compared to the same conditions in summer and autumn, in order to ensure the adhesive reaches the required melting temperature. Second, to prevent the air temperature from taking away too much heat from the adhesive during the edge banding process, the speed of the machine's conveyor belt should be correspondingly increased, and the required temperature should also be raised by 10%–30% compared to before. In colder areas such as the north, an electric blower should be added to the machine's feeding table to raise the temperature of the edge banding substrate. Of course, if necessary, heating infrared lamps should be installed above the edge banding reel to raise the temperature of the edge banding tape.

The above mainly addresses precautions for the edge banding hot melt adhesive machine. For production lines where conditions permit, the workshop's operating temperature can be raised above 20°C. Second, in humid, rainy weather with high moisture levels, besides increasing the temperature of the glue applicator, windows should be opened for ventilation, efforts should be made to raise the ambient temperature around the processed products, and reduce environmental humidity (e.g., through heating and ventilation). When the environmental humidity exceeds 90%, the adhesive processing must be terminated. Finally, the storage temperature for the adhesive must be above 10°C.
